1. Experience
There are many ways to gain experience in the world of Eldyr. Combat, trade, diplomacy, thievery, and healing are just a few of these. In most cases, the experience gained will be decided by the adventure-master, but as a general guideline, the following rules should be used:
- In combat, a player gains 1 xp per health they remove from an enemy. This should only be added, however, at the end of a fight. - When healing, a player gains 1 xp per health they heal someone/something for. If this healing is done during combat, the experience should be added at the end of the fight.
These scenarios are only specified because it is easiest to put widely applicable qualities of experience gain to them. Again, an adventure-master may use altered versions of these rules. For example, if a group of players were to fight a dangerous enemy who did not have much health, the adventure-master might choose to give them more experience for winning the fight.
2. Levelling Up
To level up you must gain an amount of experience. For level 2, this is 10xp. This can be gained in various ways. Once you gain 10xp you become level 2. Then, your experience quota increases by 5. So to get to level 3 you must gain 15 experience, then for level 4, 20, and so on.
When you level up, the following things happen:
- You gain 1 health. - You may increase 1 stat by 1. - If you increase strength or wisdom by 1, your health and mana respectively also increase by 1.
