Greetings, aspiring Adventure-Masters!
Thinking of running an adventure? Here's a guide to how.
1. Before you start:
- To run an adventure, you must first participate in at least one other adventure.
- We recommend you familiarise yourself with Eldyr's maps, rules, and lore.
- You should also read this post on formatting posts.
- Make sure to plan well, to make your adventure the best it can be.
- Do not plan in any world-changing events without first asking admin permission. We're all for member adventures affecting the future of Eldyr - so long as we're warned beforehand.
2. Non stat-based roleplays:
Please specify in the notes of your adventure that it will not be stat-based. For a non stat-based roleplay, there is no need to use the Eldyr character creation system.
2. Setting it up:
- Start a sign-up thread in 'Quests', describing your adventure. Use the template below.
- An admin will give you the 'Adventure-Master' role as soon as we can. If we forget, remind us!
- The 'Adventure-Master' role gives you several privileges. It allows you to edit threads in the 'Character Tracking' section, and gives you access to the 'Resources' section, to help you out with your adventure. It also allows you to bump your sign-up or roleplaying thread.
- Only bump your threads once or twice a week, to avoid burying other adventures.
- Don't make a separate out of character thread - sign-up threads can double as these.
3. Sign-up topic template:
4. Once you start:
- Once you have enough people to start your adventure, make a thread in the area in which it begins, and you're good to go!
- Remember, if you adventure moves regions, make a new thread in the region it moved to.
